Ivanhoe penthouse balcony could fit tennis court

An Ivanhoe penthouse with an oversized balcony so big you could fit a tennis court on it has been served up to the suburban luxury apartment market.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom pad at 1201/443 Upper Heidelberg Rd, priced at $1.6m-$1.76m, totals 59sq m in size — but a whopping 341sq m of that is external.

Tugro sales manager Jordan Romero said the enormous outdoor area was so big it could fit a tennis court, which averages 260sq m, and could host gatherings of 50-60 people.

The floorplan tells the story.

“The view is unmatched; it wraps right around. You can see everything,” he said.

Business owners and investors have dominated the interest, which includes about 10 genuine buyers, as well as a family.

A picture of the floorplan on the listing shows the scale of the outdoor area, which dwarfs the apartment, made up of an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, bathrooms and bedrooms.

There is another apartment on top, but Mr Romero said it had “nothing compared” compared to the one he had listed, which was “just full on”.

“There’s been heavy interest and it will sell for the right price,” he said.

The property was built in 2017, he said, and sits opposite the Austin Hospital.
